Ombudsman's Activities | 19.10.2018 Ombudsman Dr. Jasminka Džumhur held a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food at the University of Sarajevo Ombudsmen dr. Jasminka Džumhur held a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food in the University of Sarajevo Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Jasminka Džumhur visited today the Faculty of Agriculture and Food in Sarajevo, where she spoke with the Dean, prof. dr. Brka Muhamed, vice-dean for teaching prof. dr. Karić Lutvija, as well as representatives of the legal service of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food. The meeting was held at the proposal of the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food at the University of Sarajevo in order to improve the work of this faculty. The central topic of the discussion was related to the obligations and responsibilities of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food in relation to the freedom of access to information, the prohibition of discrimination, as well as the segment of protection in the field of human rights and the prevention of their violation. The meeting emphasized the significance and importance of cooperation between the Faculty of Agriculture and Food of the University of Sarajevo and the Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the framework of the Agreement on Understanding signed by the public and private universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Ombudsman Institution. Ombudsmen dr. Jasminka Džumhur emphasized, inter alia, that all measures should be taken to make the information available to the public as much as possible and to act in accordance with the relevant legal provisions. She also pointed out that the ombudsmen, in accordance with their powers and capabilities, are at the disposal of the Dean, prof. dr. Brka Muhamed, and the Faculty of Agriculture and Food of the University of Sarajevo. At the meeting it was agreed that during the month of November a new meeting of the participants of present meeting will be held, on which, inter alia, the measures taken will be analyzed.
