Ombudsman's Activities | 15.12.2016 Ombudswoman Jasminka Dzumhur participate in the conference on freedom of expression organized by the Council of Europe and ENNHRI Ombudswoman Jasminka Dzumhur participate in the conference on freedom of expression organized by the Council of Europe and ENNHRI Jasminka Džumhur, Human Rights Ombudswoman of Bosnia and Herzegovina is taking part in the work of the Conference „Freedom of expression – role and powers of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) and other national mechanism“ organized by the Council of Europe (CoE) and European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) being held today in Strassbourg. Ombudswoman Džumhur will hold a presentation in the framework of the first session “Freedom of Expression in the framework of the Council of Europe work and standards“. The Conference aims to identify synergies between the work of the CoE and the ENNHRI in the promotion and protection of the freedom of expression. It will be exploratory in nature and, with safety of journalists as a starting point, it may also focus on other aspects of freedom of expression. A first objective is to foster exchange of experiences and practices among participants, to identify common interests and concerns, and also give concrete suggestions as to addressing the numerous challenges in this area.
