Ombudsman Nives Jukić visits the Directorate for European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Ombudsman Nives Jukić held today a working meeting with the Director of the European Integration Directorate, Edin Dilberović, in order to exchange information regarding the process of Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the European Union.

The Ombudsperson Jukić emphasized the importance the Ombudsmen attach to this process, which was demonstrated through concrete contribution in the process of answering the questionnaire of the European Commission, and the personal engagement of the ombudsmen in working groups related to this process. She highlighted in particular the importance of the human rights issue, which will be elaborated in more detail on the opening of chapters 23 and 24 of the accession talks, which are related to the Judiciary and fundamental human rights.

At the meeting, Mr. Dilberović emphasized that he expects the finalization process to be completed by September 1, 2017, and Ombudsman Jukić expressed readiness for further cooperation on the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
