Press statement | 28.07.2017 Misuse of polygraph constitutes a violation of the rights of workers Polygraf, illustration On the occasion of the media inscription that more than a hundred workers of “Boksit”, “Mileks” and companies that are subcontractors in the bauxite mine were subjected to polygraph testing by the Company's management, the Ombudsmen recall that this practice has elements of mobbing because it leads to harassment of workers and provoking feelings of insecurity and fear in the working collective. On the same occasion, in early 2015, the Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a Recommendation to the Management of this Company to take all necessary measures to eliminate such actions from their business practices. In the Special Report prepared on the same occasion and adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was pointed out that polygraph testing was used as a method of disciplining workers, beyond the Labor Law and other general regulations regulating the field of labor relations. The Ombudsmen, once again, remind that companies of such a capacity must treat the rights of employees with a high degree of responsibility, because it is about the realization of important existential rights, and to end such and similar practices in the attitude of the Management towards the workers.
