As part of the implementation of the Lyra project, the staff of the Department for the Monitoring of Children's Rights of the Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the organization Save the Children, will hold a series of educational workshops in the period from 8 to 10 November 2017 in Roma settlements in Tuzla, Mostar, Bijeljina, Sarajevo and Banja Luka through which the inhabitants of these settlements will become more familiar with the role of the Ombudsman Institution, and point out the measures related to the improvement of the position of Roma in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Lyra project is funded by the European Union and is aimed at strengthening the skills and capacities of young leaders to identify common exclusion and discrimination factors faced by the Roma, and then to prepare feasible and applicable action plans to address these problems by facilitating interstate exchange and networking, and cooperation with civil society organizations.

The aim of the workshops is to raise the awareness of the participants about discrimination and its consequences, as well as provide basic information about the Institution of the Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
