Representatives of UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina visited the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Ombudsmen of Bosnia and Herzegovina dr. Jasminka Džumhur, Nives Jukić and prof.dr. Ljubinko Mitrović spoke today at the headquarters of the Ombudsman Institution in Banja Luka with UNICEF Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Geeta Narayan and Alwine Nijholt on the modalities of future cooperation in the field of protection and promotion of children's rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this occasion, the Ombudsmen informed the representatives of UNICEF about the manner of protection of children's rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the Ombudsman Institution's competencies. Particular attention during the discussion was dedicated to the activities of this institution in the protection of children's rights, especially when it comes to the development of Special Reports of the Ombudsman, work on individual complaints, as well as on the field work, and realization of recommendations of the Ombudsman.

During the meeting, they discussed the situation of children in conflict divorce, inclusive education, children in the media, and many other issues of importance for the promotion of children's rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere, with the support of the work of the Ombudsman by the UNICEF representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The participants of the meeting commended themselves on the present and expressed readiness for future cooperation through realization of various activities, which will be concretized in the following period
