Ombudsman's Activities | 07.12.2017 Round table on "Cooperation with Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, implementation of recommendations and coordination of activities" and Training on discrimination Round table on "Cooperation with Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, implementation of recommendations and coordination of activities" and Training on discrimination On 05.12.2017. in Tuzla, in the framework of the project: "Strengthening the capacity of the Ombudsman for Human Rights in the fight against discrimination", which was realized in cooperation with the Office of the Council of Europe in Sarajevo, a round table was held on the implementation of recommendations of the Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued to public authorities from the area of Tuzla Canton and training on discrimination. The round table was attended by the representatives of the Health Center of Tuzla, the Tuzla Canton Health Insurance Institute, the Tuzla Canton Assembly, the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Tuzla, the Inspection Department of the city of Tuzla, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Tuzla Canton, the Municipality of Gračanica, Horizon and the Human Rights Bureau from Tuzla. The Round Table discussed the recommendations of the Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina that have not been implemented so far, but also positive examples and successful cooperation with public authorities. In addition, the participants took an active part, and discussed the key challenges they face in their day-to-day work. It was emphasized that this is a good way of working and that it is necessary to organize several such events. On 06.12.2017. Expert Advisor at the Ombudsman Institution held training on discrimination against representatives of public institutions and non-governmental organizations. The aim of the training is to enable participants to recognize discrimination, preventive action and establish direct cooperation with the institution of the Ombudsman for Human Rights. The participants assessed the training as extremely useful and expressed their desire to continue the training.
