Ombudsman's Activities | 22.02.2018 Ombudsmen of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nives Jukić and Dr. Jasminka Džumhur, at the General Assembly of GANHRI GANHRI Conference, Geneva 21-23 February 2018 Ombudsmen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nives Jukić and Jasminka Džumhur, PhD, attended the General Assembly of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI), which took place on February 22 this year in Geneva, Switzerland. On this occasion, a certificate was issued by which the status of "A" is confirmed to the Institution of the Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, thus extending its accreditation for the next five years. Accreditation in status "A" is an indicator that this institution fully operates in accordance with the Paris Principles, which are used as a basis in the accreditation process. On behalf of the Ombudsman Institution for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Chairperson, Ms. Nives Jukić took over the certificate. In addition to this, during this year's three-day GANHRI meeting, a number of other activities were held in which the Ombudsmen of Bosnia and Herzegovina took part. It is about the most important gathering of national human rights institutions from around the world, which is also an opportunity to exchange practice and lessons about the role of national human rights institutions in the promotion and protection of human rights. The annual meeting was also an opportunity to discuss institutional issues related to GANHRI.
