Ombudsman Prof. Dr. Ljubinko Mitrović participant of the Fifth Regional Forum on the Rule of Law for South-East Europe

Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina Prof. Dr. Ljubinko Mitrović participates in the Fifth Regional Forum on the Rule of Law for South Eastern Europe, organized by Civil Rights Defenders and the AIRE Center, in Skoplje on March 16 and 17 this year.

The objectives of the Forum are to promote the implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights at the state level, to encourage regional cooperation in the continuous development of the rule of law and human rights, as well as to assist in the process of European integration of countries in the region.

The central theme of the Forum concerns the prohibition of torture, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, as provided for in Article 3 of the Convention.

Participants of the Forum are judges of the European Court of Human Rights from the countries of the region, representatives of the supreme and constitutional courts from the region, directors of judicial academies and institutions, state lawmakers in Strasbourg, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations and distinguished lawyers, experts in their fields.
