Ombudsmen of Bosnia and Herzegovina Prof. Dr. Ljubinko Mitrović, Dr. Jasminka Džumhur and Nives Jukić find extremely important and support the adoption of the new Law on Fundamentals of Social Protection, Protection of Civilian Victims of War and Protection of Families with Children in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. If planned, all unemployed maternity wives in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina would receive a monthly benefit of 60 percent of the average wage. In addition, the adoption of a new Law for all children in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina would be the same amount of child allowance.

The Ombudsmen also welcome all the activities of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of passing the Law on the Special Register of Persons Convicted of Criminal Offenses against Sexual Freedom and Morality against Children and Minors.

Ombudsmen have advocated for new legal solutions for years in their Special reports and in the annual activity reports of the Ombudsman Institution, which is presented to the entity parliaments and the Assembly of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and submitted to the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The issue of maternity benefits was discussed by the Ombudsmen within the framework of a Special report on the status of maternal and maternity protection in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
