Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina Professor Ljubinko Mitrović visits Banja Luka Preschool Education and Care Centre

Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina Professor Ljubinko Mitrović visited Banja Luka Preschool Education and Care Centre with his associates today and spoke with Acting Director Vesna Banjac and the members of the Board of Directors of this institution. The problem of accommodating children in preschool institutions in the territory of Banja Luka City, planned future activities of the Centre and specific cases registered with the Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina were discussed in the meeting.

They agreed about the importance of inclusion of as many children as possible in preschool education and care given that it is of paramount importance to have children included in the process of early learning and personality formation from their birth to school entry age, the process that takes place in all environments where the child lives.

It was emphasised at the meeting that the most important role of preschool education and care is to empower children to develop optimally through monitoring each child in a qualitative and careful manner, responding to developmental needs and tendencies, interacting between the family and institutions, while respecting the nature of comprehensive learning and development.
