Ombudsman's Activities | 25.05.2022 Ombudswomen Nives Jukić and Jasminka Džumhur, PhD, hold meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications United Nations Ombudswomen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nives Jukić and Jasminka Džumhur, PhD, talked today to Melissa Fleming, UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, and her associates on hate speech and the harmful consequences of this socially unacceptable form of behaviour. The modalities of future cooperation were discussed during the meeting. It was also attended by Amela Odobašić from the Communications Regulatory Agency of BiH and Vanja Bjelica- Prutina from the Central Election Commission of BiH, and the participants agreed on the importance of responding to all forms of hate speech. The ombudswomen informed the participants about the IHROBiH mandate and competence, particularly focusing on the work of the Department for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination, including the handling of hate speech complaints and other related activities. The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere and information was exchanged, with expressed readiness to continue and strengthen the cooperation.
