Ombudsmen Dr. Jasminka Džumhur and Nives Jukić visited the Correctional Center of Sarajevo Canton

Ombudsmen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Jasminka Džumhur and Nives Jukić, and their associates visited the Correctional Center of the Sarajevo Canton on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

The director of this institution, Mirsad Pinjo, informed the ombudswomen about the protection and treatment of children and minors in this Cantonal public institution, as well as the accommodation capacities, and the staffing of this center was also discussed.

On that occasion, the ombudswomen also talked to the users, and visited the premises of the Service.

The visit was realized within the joint cooperation of the Ombudsman and UNICEF on the preparation of the Special Report on the situation in institutions where children in conflict with the law are placed.
